I am a primary school teacher who has had the privilege of working with Charlotte and TDA to develop my dance teaching skills in PE. I have learnt a huge amount from working alongside her, and I now feel so much more confident, not only in teaching dance, but also in planning my own dance units from scratch. She supports teachers through dance units in a way that’s well-matched to their own confidence, offering kind feedback and direction along the way. The sessions are well-structured and clear, and she picks up the individual needs of children incredibly quickly! We are constantly encouraged to think about how to challenge children, and scaffold for children too. As well as the PE sessions, Charlotte has also helped me through starting up an after-school dance club at my setting. I wouldn’t have had the self-assurance to do this without her support and guidance, and it has enriched my teaching experience hugely. I feel very lucky to have had the opportunity to work alongside Charlotte and TDA – it’s really helped me to find a passion and confidence for teaching dance.
